I currently work with patients ages 5 to 65 and offer virtual appointments for individuals located in Texas, New York, Massachusetts, and California. For those seeking Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT), in-person sessions are available at my Texas office.
As a psychiatrist dedicated to providing high-quality, personalized, and integrative mental health care, I have chosen to operate as an out-of-network provider rather than working directly with insurance companies. This allows me to spend more time with each patient, offer longer and more in-depth sessions, and incorporate holistic approaches that go beyond the limitations of insurance-based care. By not being bound by insurance restrictions, I can focus entirely on you or your child’s unique needs, tailoring treatment plans without the constraints of arbitrary session limits or mandated medication-only approaches.

Before Your Appointment:
A parent/guardian will schedule a free 15-minute phone consultation to see if we’re a good fit.
You'll get a link to a secure patient portal where a parent/guardian will complete intake forms about your health, feelings, and what you’ve been experiencing.
I’ll review your information and might request lab work if needed, so we’re ready to dive in when we meet.
During Your Appointment (120 Minutes):
We’ll start by talking about what’s been going on in your life—school, friends, family, and anything you want me to know. You’re the expert on yourself, and I’m here to listen.
During part of the appointment, your parent or guardian will join us to help me understand more about what’s going on and to support you as we create a plan to help you feel better.
For Parents: You’ll be included in part of the session to provide consent, share your observations, and collaborate on your child’s treatment plan. The amount of time we spend together will depend on your child’s age—parents of children under 12 will typically have more involvement to ensure we fully understand developmental and behavioral patterns. Your insights are invaluable in helping us build a supportive, family-centered approach to care. Please note: The intake cannot be completed without a parent or guardian present.
Together, we’ll come up with a personalized plan that might include therapy, lifestyle changes, or parent coaching, or medication if appropriate.
After Your Appointment:
I’ll give you clear next steps, like small activities to try at home or ways to practice new skills.
We’ll schedule follow-up visits to check in on your progress and adjust the plan if needed.
If you ever have questions, you can reach me directly through the patient portal.

The Purpose of Follow-Up Appointments
Follow-up appointments are an essential part of your mental health journey at Enlightened Mind Therapeutics. These sessions allow me to track your progress, make adjustments to your treatment plan, and ensure you're receiving the care and support you need to achieve lasting wellness.

Deepen Therapeutic Work: For those engaging in psychotherapy, regular sessions provide time to explore patterns, build coping skills, and work through core challenges.
Reinforce Healthy Habits: We’ll continue to address lifestyle factors such as sleep, nutrition, and physical activity to support both mental and physical well-being.

Please note: In some cases, a 50-minute appointment may be recommended for in-depth discussions on complex medication adjustments, lab results, or treatment planning, even if psychotherapy is not included.
